If you ask those who knew him to describe him, you would hear words like 'visionary', 'genius', 'highly creative', 'driven', 'a true lover of every minute of life'. Mark had a unique approachable way with people, charming those he met almost immediately with his intoxicating smile. His drive to succeed in achieving everything he dreamed of was inexhaustible. For him, life meant to unearth and experience things to the very end, yet his "end" came many, many years too soon, leaving behind only promises of what he could have been.
He was an avid reader, an exceptional writer, a collector of stamps as well as an afficionado of films. Yet for him, film was more than just entertainment. Whether Foreign or American productions, Mark studied and critiqued them all as if each film was his own piece of work.. Film became his passion and film making became his dream and his vision.
On June 27, 1995, Mark Sarkis Ardhaldjian died in an automobile accident while driving from Chicago to Indiana, at the age of 21.
