Raffy Ardhaldijan
Born in Kuwait of Armenian heritage, Raffy was raised in the Middle East and moved to New York at the age of 18 to pursue Industrial Engineering studies at Renselear Polytechnic Institute. He later completed his Graduate Studies in Business at the University of Chicago. In his first career as an engineer and later as an investment professional, Raffy was very ambitious, analytical and intuitive. However, despite being highly successful in his career, a series of deeply personal tragedies inspired him to leave his former life and instead embark on a journey leading from his head to his heart in the hopes of discovering his true calling. Raffy has since made the transition from the investment world to a world of spiritual psychology and philanthropy all the while discovering his true passion for filmmaking. Raffy's debut film "The Wedding Gift", is a short film shot on Mini Dv in the summer of 2004 and was also his Directing Intensive thesis project at USC. Raffy lives in Hollywood's "Little Armenia" with his son Diran. Raffy's late brother, Mark, sparked the creation of Markopolo Films. Raffy is currently in development on two projects "Submerged" a modern-day love tale to be produced in a cinematic blend of narrative drama & documentary. With a sub $0.5 million budget & scheduled to be shot in leading-edge digital format, the film is being planned with creative distribution strategies and is slated for 2010. "Three Angelinos" a raw and gritty examination of three Los Angeles men whose vastly disparate lives collide briefly. The project is slated for pre-production in 2012".
